Sometimes you can learn a lot about a story merely by learning something about its author. Suzanne Collins has authored numerous books and the following link (http://www.suzannecollinsbooks.com/index.htm) is her homepage. Click on the link and read about her through WORKS, BIOGRAPHY, and INTERVIEW. (Tabs in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage). Then return to the blog and summarize (in your own words) who you think Suzanne Collins is and how her life and ideas have influenced "The Hunger Games."

Her life and ideas have influenced her life by her already writeing for shows so that means that she has experience and she knows what she is doing. also she had wrote another series before so she new how much money she could make and probaly thought that if she wrote another series she might make even more money.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne Collins is A writer who likes to make adventurous books that leave you with some question at the end.I think her writing other books has giving her new ideas which made The Hunger Games. She makes book that you cant put down you have to finish them.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne Collins has been writing for children's television since 1991. Suzanne has worked on staffs for several Nickelodian shows, including Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. Suzanne is currently working on a children's book with author James Proimos. I think Suzanne is a very creative person and has made her creative ideas into great things. I think she has a lot of exppeiriance and knowledge in writing and that influenced her in writing the book the hunger games. Suzanne likes to put twists on things and thats what made the hunger games such a great book.
ReplyDeleteI think Suzanne Collins is different on her view of life like she see's little things in a big picture and is always open to new ideas for books and how her life reflects that of Hunger Games is her mass imagination for the future and wanted to what if their was cruel goverment who made people fight for others enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteI think Suzanne Collins had a very interesting childhood especially since she knows what goes on in boys heads. She has a very curious mind and loves to think about things that many children enjoy as well. I think that she must have a very color full life in the present as well. I think her life influenced her writing the hunger games by appealing to both adults and children. Many boys like to wonder what would happen if they had to survive alone and many girls like to think that they could outdo many men.

She writes books that are very unique, like an underground world in New York City and games were only the winner survives. Suzanne has written many different children books and has worked on various Nikelodeon shows. Which tells you she is very experienced at writing.
ReplyDeleteI think Suzanne Collins is a very creative person and that's what has helped her to write all of her books. She has a very big imagination, so she writes about weird or non-realistic things. She is a very good and experienced writer.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne Collins is a creative writer person that likes to write adventurous books. she likes to tie her life in with her stories. I think from her writing her kids books she has kinda made it up to older teens and people that are gonna like violence and adventure.
ReplyDeleteI think Suzanne Collins is an average person. Without her books, she's really nothing special. I think she is a passionate writer and obviously loves doing it. I think she is able to connect things very well. Like how she connected Alice in Wonderland to New York City to write the Underland Chronicles. She has a vivid imagination, too. I don't really think anything in her life influenced the book the Hunger Games. She had a mom and dad growing up, unlike Katniss. She had multiple siblings. She's married. She has kids. I don't really see her life influencing her books. I think it's really just her imagination.
ReplyDeleteI think that Suzanne has a great imagination, or she wouldn't be able to be on kids cartoon shows or write kids books. She puts a lot of time and effort into what she does, and it shows in the book the Hunger Games. She has wrote many books and they all have creatures in them. She was very serious in the interview about her career. She is very creative. She has wrote many books and has been on cartoons.And she is very successful in her book writing career.
ReplyDelete1. I think that Suzanne Collins has a big imagination. I think that in her many books you would have to have a good imagination otherwise you couldn't write well. I think that she likes kids because she writes children books. I think that for her books she gets prepared because she does research over different things in her books. Her life I think reflects the Hunger Games because she had a younger sister and so then maybe she would do the same for her sister as Katniss did for Prim.
ReplyDelete1. I think that growing up in a big city like New York has played a major role in her books because NY is a big place where people are poor like the games. I think she is very creative, and she has a very big imagination. and she is a very experienced writer.
ReplyDeleteI think Suzanne Collins is a girl who never really knew what she wanted to do when she grew up.
ReplyDeleteAlso that she was very influenced by her mother who was always around while her father was out flying planes. She seems like she has an imaginary mind when she writes her books. Suzanne Collins seems like she was in her books and she knows exactly what happened during the exact hour of each paragraph. She almost makes it sound like she didn't get to see her father all that much.
I think Suzanne Collins would be very out going and fun to be around because of her wild imagination. Her life influenced the hunger games because she is very adventurous and likes the out doors. Suzanne is also fascinated with different mysterious worlds.
ReplyDeleteI think Susan Collins just wants to entertain people in many ways. The books she has written are a wide variety of geanras, so she apparently wants to find different creative subjects for kids and teens to read. I think she likes to learn because she had to research information for her books ( for example the one with the cockroaches and rats.) Her creativity really comes out in The Hunger Games. It is really interesting to read.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne Collins has written many books and has worked for many television series on Nickelodeon. When she was young, she lived all over the place because her dad was stationed in the air force. She even lived in New York City for 16 years. Suzanne is deathly afraid of rats and is not a fan of cockroaches, bats or spiders. She currently lives in Connecticut with her family.
ReplyDeleteI think Suzanne Collins is a women who work hard on her free time to accomplish things she wanted and how she wanted and also she had straigies and struggles to be successful in these things.She has work on the staffs of several Nickeloden. For years she had been writing about children's television. She also wrote about television shows for pre-schoolers.When she was at present, Suzanne is at work on a picture book with James Proimos.
