The Ogilvies invited the Cooks for tea and in 1793, there were rules of etiquette to drink tea. ReplyDelete2. I was about 85% sure I knew that tea orgined from China. I think I remember talking about that last year. I also knew that proper ettiquette was to have your pinky in the air. A lot of people make fun of English people because they do that. Putting your pinky in the air is in some movies that I've seen and it's common to make fun of.
3. I was surprised that you leave the saucer on the table when you sip your tea. I have seen in some movies where they hold their saucers up as well. I'm not entirely sure what a saucer is but I'm assuming that its the little plate your tea goes on.
I got 1 out of 15. The answer i knew without guessing is if you should put your pinky in the when you sip. That one was easy because when i watch movies when people have tea they usually put up there pinkies.The one that surprised me that i got wrong was what do people mostly eat. When i see people having tea they usually have sponge cake. They have it lots of places.

ReplyDeleteThe only one I thought and got correct without guessing was holding your pinky in the air while drinking. I knew that one because my mom and sister sometimes do that for fun while drinking, so I learned that from my mom. One I got wrong that surprised me was that you are supposed to take your gloves off for tea time. I thought you left them on since it would look fancier.

ReplyDelete2. I knew that you were supposed to stick your pinky in the air, and it was proper etiquette to do so while drinking tea. I knew this because my cousin Nicky and I would drink "tea" when we were little and our grandma told us.
3. I thought that you were supposed to take off your gloves before drinking tea, to keep them clean. Especially back then, when saniatary conditions were bad.
I got five out of fifteen right! In many movies they show people lifting their pinky while drinking tea...and I also knew tea came from China. One, of the many, I answered wrong was how they take their gloves off, and they leave their saucer on the table. I thought differently because usually in movies they lift the saucers up with their cup...and they wear their gloves!
