Then, return to the blog and compose a prediction about the novel you will begin tomorrow titled Fever 1793. I think Yellow Fever will be about a town in Philadelphia that gets infected with yellow fever and a girl will be the only one that doesn't have it. She will probably have to flee the country just to save herself and her family. Probably along the way her family gets infected too and she wants to help them but her family says "Leave while you can go don't try to say us we are already infected and will probably die." She will be like no if you guys have to die then so will I. But her family won't let her and force her do go out of the country. It will probably be hard to leave the city of dieing people even though she can't do anything about it. Then she will be all sad and crying a lot. But she ends up saving herself and maybe a family member but not all of them so she will be terribly sad about that.

People from the Caribbean brought a illness with them,that was called The Yellow Fever Attacks and now the illness is in Philadelphia about 2,000 people died from the disease.The illness left the people with false sense of security from the illness.
ReplyDeleteI think the family in the novel is a wealthy family with 2 sons and a daughter. What happens is that this family is traveling to Philidelphia and is going to stay there for a awhile. While the family is there, I think some while get Yellow Fever and will not be able to get cured for the disease. I think the novel will end with the family all cured of Yellow Fever and will go back to their hometown.
ReplyDeleteI think that the book will be about a daugter or wife. I think that most of her family will become ill. Also perdict that she and mabey one other family meber will avode the fever. But they will have to take care of the sick and the finaces. Thar trubel with finaces will cause them to have to sell something vaubel or somthing eles teribel will happen. I think that at least two of the family members that are sick will die ( that might include her).

ReplyDeleteThe 14 year old girl loves her family. Her family knows about a sickness going around but they don't think it is very serious. When one of the girl's family members gets sick they don't think anything of it until he or she has worse symptoms. They'll take him or her to the doctor to find the doctor himself is dumbfounded. Eventually, her family member will die and she'll be very sad. Eventually, I think she will end up getting the epidemic and die as well.
There most likely will be a main character, who doesn't get the fever. Her family will probably get the fever and she will have to care for them. Their experience might be seeing disturbing images of their parents going delirious and her whole family might die. It will take place in Philadelphia. The time which it may take place is in 1793. The main character might try to move away from the epidemic or catch it themself.
ReplyDeleteBy looking at the cover, it looks like a girl who will have a pretty big family. One of them will get it and then it will spread possibly killing the rest of her family. She will live in Philadelphia of the year of 1793. They might also flee the city or even the state to seek safety like many people did so they can avoid to be added to the death toll like thousands already.
ReplyDeleteI think that the people will be just a normal middle-class family. I think that they hear about the yellow fever and are fearful but stay in Philadelphia. The fever strikes one of the kids and soon the other children and parents catch it to. I think that eventually the parents and some of the children die from the disease. The 14 year old daughter has to get a minimal wage job to pay for the expenses of the family. When the disease ends in November the family stays in Philadelphia or what is left of the family.
ReplyDeleteI predict that the characters might be the 14 year old girl and her family. It might take place Philadelphia where there is only land and little homes that there might be a doctor but cant cure the Yellow Fever. When the Fever attacks it will start spreading and when it keeps getting worse and worse they die. This family will have trouble and the girl has to grow up on her own and try to keep everyone healthy and might have to do all the work for the family. There were no hospitals or anything around. They started to put people in houses to try to keep them healthy.
ReplyDeletethe character is dr.benjermain rush and he is telling it from his side i think this book will be good so that when we get older and we have children we can tell them about this big deal that went on and on for a long time. but i think this story is gonna take place in the olden days and the book is probaly going to end with everyone dieing in Phiadelphia or they will find medicine to stop this sickness and then they all can go get a shot or something so that when it comes around to them that they will already have something in them to stop it from letting thm react.

It might end up that only 1 person from every family might die a lot of friends will be gone relitives they might have to move and find a different place to live.!

How they might end: She or one of her family members will end up dying and then she will write about how they moved and how they delt with there lost and them moving back to Philadelphia after the Yellow Fever Epidemic
I'm guessing this event will take place in Philidelphia. I think that the main character is a girl. Her family has yellow fever. I would hate to be in her shoes. I think since the yellow fever was that bad that one of her family members will in the tragedy.Her exsperience wil be a bad one. If you have to take care of your family and the have yellow fever you never know if they will die or not. Youll never know they will die. So having to think about that and being worried i think that would be a big deal fir her. I wonder can you still get yellow fever today?

I think that the main character will be a teenager who's family gets the yellow fever and she has to get a job and take care of them until they get better. Once she gets a job and has the money to help them her father dies and her mom slowly recovers from the fever.

ReplyDeletethe girl is the main character, along with her is her family, which is important, too. they are experiencing life in the 1700's and what came along with that, which happens to be the wild and deathly yellow fever.. I think that she gets the yellow fever, but is one of the few who survive it, but some in her family die. she also is dealing with many people leaving to try to avoid getting the yellow fever.
I think the book is going to take place in 1793 when the yellow fever began in Philadelphia, where it had also started. I think it's going to be mostly a biographical kind of thing. And have a couple main characters who are trying to fight the disease and then other people who are trying to figure out what caused it, how it started, and what they can do to make it better, or find cures for it. I'm sure at least one the the main characters will die at the end of the book.

Then i think that he or she will die and then the family realises how bad it actually is. But before she dies I think that her family will take her to the doctor but the doctor does not know what it is so then she will die.

Yellow fever was brought by human cargo on Philadelphia's docks and also mosquitoe's bites. The main character and her family will try to find a cure or something to prevent yellow fever and wont and her or some of her family will die.

But her family is wealthy so they try and find a doctor who can help and find the best one in Philadelphia, where she lives. This will take place in the year 1793 (GREAT PREDICTION) and in the end she dies sadly of yellow fever.

I also think that she will encounter a lot of death on the way, which will be hard on her. Either that is my prediction, or her parents are really poor and forced to stay in the city while the Yellow Fever strikes.
ReplyDeleteI think this book is going to be about someone in someones family gets sick and dies so now the person who is left and didn't get the illness has to stay and live by themselves and has to be more mature about things because u think this person is a young kid who lost his family in the story and just wants them back but the only thing the kid has to do is grow up and have to live on there own. Or this book is about a family getting a illness besides one person in the family so the one person that doesn't get it will have to take care of the family and have to go and get a job for the family because that parents and other kids cant work. That's what i think the book is going to be about.

They eventually go and find somewhere else to settle. I think the narrator will be one of the children. I also think that kid will survive, but their family wont. Another thing I think is it takes place in the late 1700.

ReplyDeleteI think the "Fever" will take place in hillidelphia around late 1800 to about early 1900. It will be about a young girl, maybe eight or nine, who's town is being infected with yellow fever. Watching the towns schools,businesses, and factories shut down. I could see it being about the struggles of not having the proper medicines and proper care to fight it off. I think she might have a big family and they all get infected with it and she might be lucky enough to not get it, but on the other hand, having to take care of her whole family at home. Or she might have a close friend who she has met throughout the years and looses her young friend do to yellow fever. This may change her whole world.

I'm assuming it will be about a teenage girl/boy with her/his mother and father probably moving there and just getting settled in to the new town.People are definitely dieing form the yellow fever attacks. most likely one member of the book (i'm guessing the young girl/boy) is going to become sick from the illness,yellow fever.I'm guessing that it will go away for a while and maybe they will leave but either way the illness,yellow fever, will come back even worse and will kill one of the family members. but if it doesn't not come back i'm guessing it will be about the survival and have to watch people go through the sane thing and how awful it is to see people dieing and what its like and what they go through.
